Jessica J. Griffin
Focusing
on the integration of conceptual understanding, multiple representations, and
building number sense, while raising the level of rigor, the math coach
provides direction and guidance to math teachers. In order to provide direction
and guidance, the math coach facilitates the gathering of authentic assessment
data and analysis, observes, models, mentors, and coaches teachers. Professional development relevant to teacher
needs is identified and implemented. All
of this is done for the purpose of improving mathematical and instructional
pedagogy.
